KAREL VAN WIJNENDAELE TROPHY

In memory of Karel Van Wijnendaele, the legendary reporter of Sportwereld and founder of the Tour of Flanders, Velo Club Karel Van Wijnendaele yearly organizes the Karel Van Wijnendaele Trophy (the previous Tour of Flanders for cycling tourists), a cycling and mountainbike event with several distances into the Flemish Ardennes.

The Karel Van Wijnendaele Trophy takes place where the first Tour of Flanders started in 1913, in Mariakerke near Ghent.
